Play in Renton

The Seahawks aren’t the only ones who play in Renton.

Renton and the Puget Sound area include a tremendous number of popular entertainment, sports and recreation venues. Renton has more than 25 parks and trails throughout the City to explore. The most popular park is Gene Coulon Memorial Beach Park on Lake Washington. The 53-acre gem was rated by The Seattle Times as one of the top five parks in the Seattle area for children. Another very popular recreational opportunity is the City-operated Henry Moses Aquatic Center. It features waterslides, swimming pools, a wave pool, lazy river and more. Renton also has a diverse array of arts and entertainment, festivals and events. Take in a performance at the Renton IKEA Performing Arts Center or the Renton Civic Theatre.

There is also a great farmers market: The Renton Farmers Market at the Piazza celebrates its 12th year with the Tuesday market at the Piazza from 3 to 7 pm through September 24. Downtown Renton comes alive with the tastes of summer in The Piazza, Renton's beautiful urban park, which is filled with juicy berries, leafy lettuce, vine-ripened tomatoes and a virtual cornucopia of other farm fresh produce. More than 50 vendors and farmers are expected to sell a bounty of fresh, locally grown farm products, including organic fruits and vegetables, cut flowers, eggs, baked goods, herbs and more! There are many beautiful golf courses throughout the region, including the Maplewood Golf Course and Driving Range in Renton, voted the best public golf course four years in a row by locals. The Pacific Northwest has amazing mountains. The Cascades to the east of Renton and Mt. Rainier to the south offer a myriad of day hikes and scenic drives with beautiful vistas. The Olympic Mountains make a nice day trip from Renton where the views from Hurricane Ridge or a temperate rain forest can be enjoyed.
